Lake Tallavana is a serene gated community located conveniently within a few miles from Tallahassee. We have a natural park-like setting with abundant wildlife and scenic beauty. Residents can kayak, canoe, or putter around the 160 acre lake on an electric (only) motor boat. The lake has plenty of bass as well as other species of fish. Bird watchers enjoy daily sightings of backyard birds such as robins, cardinals, and chickadees as well as frequent sightings of red-shouldered hawks, woodpeckers, and a few eagles. We have a pavilion available for use for all members.
The community has a Homeowner's Association that is an all-volunteer board of 7 directors. The HOA maintains the roads, operates a security gate, ensures lake water quality and fish population is routinely monitored, maintains the docks and pavilion, and keeps the right of way manicured among many other tasks. Beautiful wooded lots with homes are tucked away. Homes also border the lake for easy water access and a beautiful lake view. A community garden exists where members may "rent" a plot and grow their own vegetables. Lake Tallavana has the convenience of a secure, well-knit community balanced with a respect for privacy and autonomy. If you’re looking to leave the crowded city behind, Lake Tallavana might just be the place you’d like to call home!
